Committed to the Craft
Handmade. Heartfelt. Yours – it’s the foundation of Potterings. You’ll make a beautiful piece of pottery that feels like you. Our values:
Creativity Without Pressure
“There’s no right or wrong way—just your way. Whether you’re shaping your first mug or refining your craft, our studio is a space for exploration, not perfection.”
A Space to Slow Down
“In a world that moves fast, pottery invites you to slow down. Feel the clay in your hands, embrace the process, and create something that’s truly yours.”
For Hands, Heart & Home
“Every piece tells a story. Every touch is part of the beauty. Whether you’re making for yourself or a friend, our studio is where meaningful creations begin.”

A Place to Explore, Learn, and Create
At Potterings, we believe everyone has an artist inside them—you just need a space to let it out! Our workshops and classes are designed to be fun, approachable, and perfect for beginners. No pressure, no perfection, just the joy of making something with your hands.
Sustainable Practices
At Potterings, zero waste isn’t just a goal—it’s our foundation. We source all our materials, including clay and glazes, locally from Seattle and Tacoma to reduce transportation impact and support our regional economy. Every bit of clay is reused: scraps, trimmings, and even dried-out pieces are carefully reclaimed, slaked down, and returned to use. Our glazes are also repurposed. This closed-loop system is at the heart of our circular studio practice. By refusing to send anything to landfill, we uphold a strict zero-waste commitment—ensuring that nothing is wasted, and everything has value.
Member of the Seattle Good Business Network
Ownership and Opportunity Matter — With local ownership comes local accountability—local owners care about our place, just like we do. And having more local businesses means higher per capita income, more jobs, and real resiliency in our local economy. We also know that real security comes from real community; we’re all better off when we’re all better off! We can rebuild the middle by decentralizing power and ownership, and engaging in fair trade.
